Social enterprises (SE-Assist).
SE ASSIST is an award winning social investment programme delivering support to social enterprises since 2013.
Working with Charities Aid Foundation, Local Enterprise Networks and the Cabinet Office, SE Assist was set up to deliver a package of mentoring, financial and consultancy support for Social Enterprises in the Brighton area.
In 2014 this grew to Croydon and in 2015 we started the process in Wales. Social entrepreneurs have the chance to get their businesses off the ground with the help of the scheme, which provides funding and support from businesses in their local communities.
Successful social enterprises will receive a support package which includes an interest free loan of between £10,000 and £30,000, a mentor as well as access to a bank of experts.
The Social Enterprises we have supported so far are:
- The Purple Playhouse
- The Croydon Citizen
- Mum’s the chef
- Sussex Community Internet Project (SCIP)
- Little Green Pig
- Engage & Create
- Ecological Land Co-operative
- Brighton & Hove Energy Service Co-op (BHESCo)
- The Bevendean Community
- Young Start up Talent
- GT Schools
